ERIC M. JOHNSON, P.C.

TO CONTACT US:

The Internet complicates the initial communication coming from a prospective client to an attorney.  Before the Internet, a person wanting to hire an attorney would simply call him on the telephone, or stop by to see him in his office.  During this initial conversation, before proceeding further, it was always the duty of the attorney to check his records to make sure that undertaking the representation of that prospective client would not create a conflict of interest with an existing or former client.  The attorney would typically ask the prospective client who the adverse party would be, inquire as the general nature of the matter, and then perform the "conflicts check".

Electronic or "e-mail" makes it easier for such conflicts to arise, because we as attorneys cannot control how much you disclose to us by e-mail.  Accordingly, before sending an e-mail to ERIC M. JOHNSON, P.C., you must understand and accept the terms under which you are sending it to us, and the legal consequences of sending it, if it might contain confidential information.  As a result of reading such terms, below, you may wish to limit your disclosure of any confidential information until we have had the opportunity to perform a conflicts check, and then get back to you.

TERMS:

Therefore, by clicking the "ACCEPT", you agree that you have read the two preceding paragraphs, and that we at ERIC M. JOHNSON, P.C. may review any information you transmit to us.  You recognize that our review of your information, even if you submitted it in a good faith effort to retain us, and further, even if it is highly confidential, does not preclude us from representing another client directly adverse to you, even in a matter where that information could and will be used against you.  We will otherwise maintain confidentiality of your information.

I have read, fully understand, and accept the terms set forth above.
